Program Overview
The purpose of the Coach Boyce Smith Scholarship Fund which is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization, is to provide at least one scholarship per year to a senior from Springfield High School. Scholarships are for undergraduate study and may be used for education related expenses, including tuition, fees, books, supplies, room and board.
Eligibility
Requirements
Any Springfield High School Senior, who plans to enroll as a first-year student at a college, university or vocational school may apply for one of these scholarships with the understanding that the scholarship is to be used during the two semesters or three quarters of the succeeding academic year. Scholarships are paid directly to the institution.
Criteria for Award
Minimum academic scholarships

Grade point average of 3.0 and ACT score of 20 or higher*

Evidence of scholarship, work experience, leadership, maturity and character

Evidence of financial need

Participation in extra-curricular activities and community service

High school transcript

Teacher and other recommendations
*Some scholarships may require alternate academic requirements such as a lower GPA or omitting ACT score.
